Dear Reader,

Much like the approximate five thousand blogs being born each day, this one has a particular aspiration in mind. However, contrary to most other hopefuls scattered across the web, Linguaphille harbours no intentions on attracting three hundred thousand viewers a day; it does not expect to be famous across the expanses of the internet; and it does not feel the need to be acknowledged as the greatest blog by anyone and everyone who views it. On a much more simplistic level, this blog is merely here to allow its owner to share her passion of languages to the world.

Now, allow me to introduce myself as concisely as lines can go. I am a fifteen-year-old girl who is currently harnessing her love of languages, linguistics, cultures, international relations, foreign films, human and environmental issues and sociology. As far as languages are concerned, I am interested in learning as many as I can, as much as I can. This, hopefully, will permit me to realise my dream of being a polyglot in the distant future.

I am able to speak a few languages now, including English, Indonesian, sub-par Mandarin, intermediate Japanese and rudimentary Spanish. I hope to hone all my language skills because I feel that none of them are as refined or polished as I’d like them to be. For this reason I create this blog, in the hopes of drawing other, more qualified professionals to aid me in my language learning.

Setting that aside, here in Linguaphille you might find little snippets of information detailing the interesting things that I happen to discover during my day. Although the bulk of future posts will be heavily based on languages, I will also post about contemporary issues and entertainment news should the need and opportunity arise.

As far as Linguaphille goes,  it was created on a whim, with a domain name so uncreatively decided by its owner. I just hope that I can keep this up long enough to see Linguaphille mature and blossom into a fully functioning blog!
